Drastically re-designed for the ’62 model year, the 6120 Chet Atkins Hollowbody incorporated what the Company marketed as the “Electrotone” (sealed-top) body, with a double-cutaway, string mute system, and padded back (covering an access door), as standard equipment.  The 6120 model designation was finally decommissioned in 1972.
